Coming from the hotbed of health sciences startups that is MIC Vlaanderen
in Belgium, UgenTec
delivers an independent diagnostic platform to help molecular labs with their DNA (PCR) analyses.
Ugentec is streamlining DNA testing using artificial intelligence. FastFinder is a software platform that uses AI to analyze and interpret DNA (PCR) analyses. The striking benefit is lightning fast results- reducing “eyes-on” time from 1.5 hours to 3 minutes. Their clients, molecular labs mostly in clinical diagnostics, also get better accuracy which translates to better care for patients and lower costs. The software can integrate multiple machines and users, create automation, sort results and export documentation.
UgenTec was founded in 2014 by Tom Martens and Wouter Uten and is a spin-off from the University of Leuven (KUL), currently located in the Corda Campus in Hasselt. Ugentec received multiple awards and scientific and innovation recognitions for their unique market approach and paradigm-shifting algorithm creations. They have successfully raised €3.45 million and in April announced their venture into the PCR middleware landscape in partnership with Hamann Laborautomation. They are working with research labs across multiple industries to develop a universally applicable artificial intelligent software platform for automatic PCR analysis.
